The upcoming resort project of Hotel New Castle, the “Sarmsa Resort” is located
on the way to Gangtok and is about 15 minutes drive away from the Capital.
The name Saramsa Resort is derived from the place called Saramsa where it is
located which is one of the most prominent tourist spots of Gangtok, specially
Saramsa Garden which is famous for the wide variety of Flora and Fauna and the
picnic spot with the swimming pool. Just besides the Saramsa Garden is the area
where the grand annual 3 day Saramsa Mela (Sankrati Mela) is held.
The Saramsa Resort is located just near the Saramsa Garden. The resort is spread
over 12 acres of natural attraction with river beach, natural forests,
waterfalls and streams with rivers flowing through the property and breath
taking views of hills all around as can be seen in the picture.
The resort area is also inhabitated by a large variety of birds, squirrels, rare
